Cradle to grave Lead Engineer
Leads product development and/or product improvement from initial concept through production. Provides engineering and technical services for new product development and production engineering.
Leads teams to provide technically correct, high value, timely engineered project solutions. Defines BOM. Creates Gantt chart and assigns tasks to team members. Provides direction to Engineers and Designers. Implements product development per corporate Product Development System. Proposes and maintains project estimates and schedules.
Generates product and design ideas. Creates, checks and approves designs, assembly layouts, prototypes and drawings. Engineers solution sets utilizing VE/DFMA techniques. Creates and leads DFMEAs. Generates Engineering specifications. Accomplishes proper dimensional management (including appropriate use of GD&T) for components/assemblies as it relates to PPAP and Release Processes.
Recommends follow up action. Defines and develops product, material specifications, cost estimates for the bill of materials. Responsible for timely engineering release of product for prototype and production.
Responsible for developing product system DVP&R. Responsible for monitoring progress and making changes to the DVP and DFMEA caused by project scope changes.
Provides employee training and technical supervision. Organizes, delegates and monitors tasks given to engineers and designers.
The client wants a cradle to grave engineer with design knowledge. This person will not supervise but will direct others to keep the project moving.
Highly skilled communicator and project leader

Highly skilled in creation of and application of DFMEA and DVP&R tools
Highly proficient with technical drawings and able to create 3D CAD solutions.
Able to apply CAE techniques to verify robust design
Highly proficient in application of problem solving techniques
Bachelors Degree with a major in an Engineering discipline, advanced degree desirable
8 - 12 years of experience would be ideal providing significant engineering solutions in a manufacturing/product development organization.
